Other Grants and Funding

The Colorado Women’s Sports Fund Association may identify programs in which lack of funding (i.e., for equipment, facilities, team fees, etc.) is a barrier to participation in competitive amateur sports by women. Colorado Women’s Sports Fund Association’ Board of Directors may elect to designate a portion of revenues to fund these programs as needed, or may designate or develop a specific event to raise the funds necessary for the programs. Colorado Women’s Sports Fund Association will also make it available as an administrative conduit for scholarships sponsored by other organizations.

Encouraging Participation in Competitive Sports

The Colorado Women’s Sports Fund Association will work with groups such as local municipal recreation departments, schools, and other similar organizations to identify programs in which Colorado Women’s Sports Fund Association can encourage qualified, highly skilled women to become involved and participate in competitive sports in order to compete at a high level. These programs could include grants to purchase equipment or payment of fees to participate in clinics, leagues, or other programs as identified by these recreation departments and its partner agencies. Colorado Women’s Sports Fund Association will designate a certain portion of its revenues to fund these opportunities as funds become available.

Previous Grants Funded by CWSFA

  • In 2009, CWSFA has granted $1,000 to BGCLC to fund uniforms and equipment for the BGCLC girls basketball program.
